Japan Club Kuala Lumpur @ Taman Seputeh (LED Projects)

Update (May 2016)

The key question as to how does eLED vs other brands perform after 4 years? The eLED team went back to take check on the hall lighting that was installed during Phase 2 in 2012 and the before and after can be seen below.

4 year comparison

Phase 4 (Aug 2014)

The final phase was again awarded to eLED to change all remaining LED T8 lamps around the parameter. This is one of the oldest LED projects done which is a testament to the quality and energy saving that has shown positive results.

Phase 3 (Oct 2013)

eLED has been awarded phase 3 of which uses mostly T8 lamps and perimeter lighting. Below is the differences between using normal florescent T8 tube and eLED 12W. The difference is obvious with florescent lighting creating a bright ceiling but a darker floor (uneven) while the eLED T8 12W gives the same brightness from ceiling to floor. Other than energy savings, its brightness is also very practical and useful.

Phase 2 (Oct 2012)

Under Phase 2 implementation for JCKL, eLED is tasked to convert the existing main hall lights that is currently using 26W PLC to eLED. There are a few criteria’s that was highlighted: –

  1. Must be brighter than existing 26W PLC.
  2. Must be more energy saving.
  3. Dimmable will be most ideal for flexible hall use.

There is also another LED Brand P that entered this tender and below are some of the testing done on site and results by JCKL themselves.

JCKL is the only eLED client that has been very specific on the energy savings and return hence eLED Malaysia is able to show to you in great detail on the kWh usage and savings as per the chart below. The savings have been adjusted from the old TNB rates of RM0.397 to RM 0.43 as of 1st July 2011 over a period of 9 months to remain fair.

The return on investment period for Phase 1 is at 1½ years (Not including bulb replacement costs and maintenance).

Total units installed 300 units of D2703C-02 (2.5W eLED) since 1st October 2011.

Note : Fluctuations per month is considered the norm depending on various activities or even changes to TNB billing and methods.
